When I was little, I was the girl that was obsessed with horses and cowgirls and hay bales. All the like. When I was really little, I remember wanting to be a horse when I grew up. I soon realized that this probably wouldn't ever happened so I turned to other dreams and ambitions.
One of which was growing up to become a cowgirl and sing onstage with a band called The Dixie Chicks.
I know they've had some criticism here and there and the band isn't one single person, but still. I didn't want to sing with Natalie or Emily or Martie, I wanted to sing with The Dixie Chicks. I didn't even really pay attention to who the band was or what their music was really even about. All I know is that little five-year-old Hannah wanted nothing more than to sing with The Dixie Chicks. I just wanted to have the opportunity to sing their amazing music with them.
And quite honestly, if I were given that opportunity today, I'd take it in a heartbeat. Deep down, nothing's really changed. I still listen to their music all the time.
I'm still a little cowgirl at heart. And hey, the band's still touring. Maybe I'll get the chance to fulfill my childhood dream.
